Fraggle Rock!

The Fraggles are not alone in their underground home, however. They share it with crabugs, boulder bats, rocksnakes, flicker flies and Doozers. Doozers are about as tall as a Fraggle's knee, and always present, but not without a purpose. Along with their humming machinery, they are forever building little constructions, such as bridges, monuments and towers, which Fraggles just love to eat.

Fraggle Rock is situated underneath the Gorgs' Garden, near which is the Gorgs' Castle. This crumbling, old construction is home to the Gorg family, Pa, Ma and Junior Gorg. Gorgs are horrible creatures, fifteen times the size of a Fraggle, with shaggy brown fur. Pa Gorg, the self-proclaimed King of the Universe, is an imposing figure, always wearing a helmet and carrying a shield, even though there is no one to fight. Junior Gorg, although smaller, is still a fearsome figure, with size eight-million shoes, and a favourite pasttime of capturing Fraggles brave enough to venture into his Garden.

Each Fraggle has a job assigned to him or her, and with each Fraggle putting in thirty minutes a week, Fraggle Rock runs very smoothly. And best of all, with such a small time allocated to work, most of a Fraggle's time is free for play, making their lives great fun.

There are FIVE Fraggles you are likely to meet in Fraggle Rock, who have been very good friends since childhood.

RED: Red is an energetic, happy, positive Fraggle, with fiery red hair and a red sweater. Her favourite place is the pool, and, luckily for her, she has the job of cleaning the pool. She loves making plans, but hates for them to fail, and hates it even more when her friend Gobo sees them do so. Red shares a room with Mokey, and is usually last to bed.

MOKEY: Mokey is a peaceful, gentle, pink Fraggle, with old, ripped, unravelling clothes, and a love for fantasy. Her job is to gather vegetables, most often radishes, from the Gorgs' garden. She likes painting, and shares a room with Red.

GOBO: Gobo is a playful, adventurous Fraggle, who cannot resist a challenge from Red. He shares a room with Wembley.

WEMBLEY: Wembley is a green, and unfortunately indecisive Fraggle. His problem is so bad, he cannot even decide which of his two shirts to wear in the morning, even though the two are identical. Luckily for him, he has four very good friends, always willing to help him decide on these difficult issues. Wembley can howl the loudest of all the Fraggles, and his job is therefore to lead the Fraggle Emergency Siren, consisting of 16 howling Fraggles. He shares a room with Gobo.

BOOBER: Boober is a glum, negative Fraggle, the only one in Fraggle Rock to wear socks. He is always dispensing warnings, worrying, and reading his book on superstitions. He hates jokes, likes work and always has his hat pulled down over his eyes. His job is to do the laundry.

Along with the Fraggle Emergency Siren, two other sounds are often heard echoing throughout Fraggle Rock. The first is the Fragglehorn, used to call a meeting. Its blaring honk is music to a Fraggle's ear, and upon its call, every Fraggle drops whatever he or she is doing,  and rushes to the Great Hall. The second sound is the Official Fraggle Fanfare, an ancient and sacred chant, sung to honour a Fraggle. It goes like this: 

"Wibba, wobba, weeba, woo! Good for us and GOOD FOR YOU!"

Playing is a Fraggle's favourite thing to do, and Fraggles not only play during the day, but while they sleep as well. The dreamworld is the second best place next to the real world, and every Fraggle knows that if you dream a dream long enough, it will come true.
